There is another addition to strong sturdy flash drives and this time there is no compromise with the memory size. The Corsair 16GB Flash Drive is a water resistent drive with a rubber casing which gives it some protection. It also comes with "True Crypt" which provides you easy encryption of data so you can be assured that your data is safe. The price of this drive is approximately $300 and it can read at 22MB/sec which is close to the maximum speed you can achieve transferring from any Usb drive to a 5400 rpm HDD (which are often seen in laptops as opposed to 7200 rpm HDDs which is present in all desktop computers) This thing is pretty appealing, but only if you have the extra cash lying around in the house. |

Sony has come out with more mp3 players in the NW series. They have not been very successful to break into the niche Mp3/Portable music market but they are doing their bit to add to the competition. THe Sony NW-S600 is 1GB mp3 player, with the NW-S700 having capacity to store up to 4GB of data.
The players when kept together look almost identical. They come with inbuilt Noise-Cancelling feature which significantly improves the sound quality. The players have a Built in FM Radio and comes with free MDR-NC022 headphones. These headphones are top of the line when it comes to the noise-cancelling technology. Suprisingly the Sony NW-S600 and NW-S700 Mp3 players are still using the age old USB v1.1 interface to transfer data instead of the speedy new USB v2.0.
This is nothing great, but surely worth a mention since it's a Sony! |

The iRiver S10 is a mp3 player measuring about 42 x 30 x 10.8 mm in size and weighing about 18grams. The iRiver mp3 player comes in 2GB capacity and is a great competitor to the iPod Shuffle. The iRiver S10 has a good battery life of about 8+ hours on a single charge. The only disadvantage or downside i should say is the size of it and ofcourse the FM scan is quite poorly configured.
The iRiver S10 has a 1.15inch display which is recent enough. The player can transfer files at about 3.1MB/sec according to CNETs review. |

BenQ has come out with another of their high priced HDTVs or LCD monitor whatever you may call it. It is the 24inch LCD / HDTV screen this time - BenQ FP241W. The BenQ FP241W costs about $1300. The BenQ FP241W has a display resolution of upto 1900 x 1200 pixels with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. The BenQ FP241W has a D-Sub, Dvi-D, S video pins along with other HDMI features.
The display has a 6ms response time and a 500cd /m2 brightness. But i am still not gonna buy at the pricetag of $1300, this is a sure miss in my opinion! |

Well, here's something new and kinda different for you guys. A water proof Mp3 is what you need if you are near the swimming pool a lot. Ultra Products' Hydra have now released their new line of Water resistant mp3 players for exactly this reason. This mp3 player can play almost all audio files like Mp3, Wav, Wma, and some others too. It has a pretty decent looking display to see the song currently playing and batter level, etc.
The Hydra mp3 player is available for $70 for the 2GB one, and $40 for 1GB. Not too pricy so a decent alternative to a normal player too if you are looking to be safe |
