The Blue-ray movies are now out in the stores with all the labels releasing their latest movies on Blu-ray discs. Samsung being the first to come out with it's Blu-ray player BD-P1000 is quite daring. Looking at all the reviews done on the BD-P1000 and it's challengers, the HD DVD Players there is quite a divide. The Blu-ray player is much much more expensive than the Toshiba HD DVD player, as much as double the price. The Toshiba is available at $500 while this is close to $1000.
Although it appears that the Blu-ray player is much more solid as compared to the Toshiba one. But i still wouldn't go into this, if i had to buy a HD-DVD or a Blu-ray recorder or player I would certainly go for the HD DVD.

The much awaited Blu-ray recorder is now out by BenQ, after the many HD-DVD burners which has been declared it is quite on the Blu-ray front. The BenQ BW1000 will be available from next month (august) and will set you back approximately $1000. BenQ is one of the leading Dvd-rw burner manufacturer with its leading Lightscribe and other models. This burner will write BD-R discs at 2x speed, but the down side is that it will write Dvds at max 12x and CD-Rs at 32x. For those who can afford to buy the discs and spend a grand on the burner it's something that will make your 'Box' proud. You can ofcourse store 5 times more data than on a normal dual layer Dvd. |
