The Fujitsu Lifebook U1010 comes with a 800 Mhz A110 processor with a Intel GMA 950 graphics card. The Tiny machine has a 5.6 inch display with a nice resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The Lifebook comes with 1 GB of RAM with 40 GB of harddrive space.
The UMPC runs on a Windows Vista Premium operating system and has other accessories like a Webcam, Bluetooth v2.0, fingerprint reader and more.
The downside to this - a very cramped keyboard and a hefty price of about 2,000 australian dollars. |

Sony Vaio has come out with two new laptops with Blu-ray writers. The Sony Vaio AR40 which comes with a 17-inch WUXGA screen with a 2.4 GHZ Core 2 Duo T7700 processor. The laptop comes with a maximum of 4GB of RAM and with a 500 GB hard drive. The Graphics card in this laptop is a powerful NVidia GeForce 8600 HT. The VAIO FZ20 has a 15.4-inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution, which comes with a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 processor, 2GB RAM, a 300 GB HDD, and a GeForce 8600M GS graphics card.
The Sony Vaio LT HD PC also comes with the similar Blu-ray writer but along with these are are many more goodies attached. The Vaio LT PC comes with a 22inch WSXGA+ LCD with a 1.3 megapixel camera. The processor in this powerhouse is also a Core2 DUO. This will cost as much as $2900 and will retail in October. |

This one has kept us waiting for a long time, but its out now for sure. The Dell Precision M6300 is the latest laptop to the 17inch Dell precision series. The laptop comes wit an Intel Core 2 Duo X7900 CPU ( which runs at a powerful 2.8 Ghz and a 800 Mhz front side bus).
The Dell M6300 comes with a NVidia Quadro FX 1600M graphic card, with upto 4GB RAM and 200 GB hard drive. Ofcourse the usual DVD-RW or Blu-ray option available with the Dell notebook. It comes with 802.11 ag/b Wifi, Bluetooth 2.0, Dvi and Firewire port. The laptop is also offered with a AT&T HSDPA data card for internet anywhere with a AT&T network.
The Laptop could also feature a 32GB SSD in the future, but we are not sure if its coming too soon.
Along with these goodies there is also an option to pick your favorite open source operating sytem instead of Windows - Red Hat Linux.

The Dell Inspiron 1521 boasts of a AMD Turion TL-64 2.2GHz and a 80GB SATA Harddrive. The Inspiron 1521 comes with a 15.4 inch screen and is being put under the Vostro 1500 series. Another laptop in this series is the Inspiron 1520 which have almost identical specs with the 1521 but with the Santa Rosa chip.
The Dell 1521 and Dell 1520 will be released around June 26th. The laptops will weigh a nice and heavy 6.6 pounds. There is no certain word whether or not we will get to see Blu-ray drives in these, we will just have to wait and watch for that. On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 1520 will come with GeForce Go 8600M GT graphic cards, and the 1521 will bear the less effective ATI Radeon X1270. |

The Dell Inspiron 1720 comes topped with a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T7500 (All new Santa Rosa Chipset), along with a 17-inch WUXGA TrueLife display, and added to that a powerful 256 MB GeForce 8600M graphics card.
The laptop could hold 2 Harddrives within and can be setup with RAID 0/1 support. The new Inspiron series comes with 802.11n and Gigabit Ethernet support. The laptop could also come with Blu-ray drive support at a very hefty price though.
The Dell Inspiron 1721 comes with almost all the same features but with a AMD processor.
Update - Dell has officially launched these on their websites and they are pretty decently priced. The Dell Inspiron 1720 with a T7500 2.2 Ghz Intel core 2 duo processor, with a Nvidia 256mb graphics card, 2 GB ram , 160GB hard disk comes up to $1900. You can select what color you want as well and thankfully all colors are priced the same. |
