HP is testing everything it has got and this time it is for India. They have launched new personal computers and accessories putting all importance to the fashion part of it. They have started this with the Pavilion series and LCD TFT monitors. The colors on the Fashiontronics are bright and eye catching. I personally don't find it appealing and certainly not for the tech freaks.
This looks like a flop idea in my eyes and mainly aimed at housewives and kids. Lets see what they kind do. If you are looking for these electronic items as showpieces, they sure are expensive ones. Suneet Varma is also behind the designing part of this, and is one of the big fashion designers in the country. |

There are fresh reports that Baidu, China's largest search engine is launching its own Wikipedia alike site - Baidupedia.
The site, Baidupedia is ofcourse different from the ever so famous Wikipedia which is that it is self-censoring
According to Newscientisttech this "Baidupedia does not allow anyone to add,create, or modify content which WikiPedia currently does, It is censored by the company to avoid content which is offending the Chinese govt.
The content to the encyclopaedia must pass a filtering system before it is included in the site. Baidupedia doesn't allow anybody including any 'malicious evaluation of the current national system', any 'attack on government institutions', and prevents the 'promotion of a dispirited or negative view of life'. {mosSociable}

Google is testing a new search feature within its search results. It's an expandable content that displays more information about a site including an image and a short text based on the content of the site, Related links, and "Inside this site" links. There is also a search "Search this site" feature. The feature is apparently in testing phase as it appears only randomly at only a few Google datacentres.
It it certainly a new feature that will be taken into account by SEO (Search Engine Optimization) companies and will encourage webmasters and web site owners to have even more relevant content.
The search engine market is definitely becoming more competitive as MSN and Yahoo have begun to gain momentum. Google needs to bring some new look into their search for sure.

There have been large number of reports and reviews saying that the memory leaks in the Firefox browser is a huge problem.
But what people think is a memory leak in the new Firefox 1.5 is not a memory leak but a feature. Yes, this may suprise you. But according to the news from them they say it helps to improve the performance when viewing back. That is revisiting a page that you visited earlier. Studies also show that 39% of all the views are re-views to the page viewed earlier. Firefox implements a Back-forward cache which helps keep the page/document for the some time after session history entries.
This turns out to be a lot of data, but clearly a trade-off. You let the browser use more resources and you can surf the web much faster.

The new iMacs which have been rolled out last month have dual-core chips in them.
This has sparked real competition to AMD, and their corporate vice-chairman Randy Allen says than his company will be launching Quad-core processors as soon as early 2007.
Intel chief Justin Rattner showed the working of their new server with their new microprocessors. He maintained that these will be faster than the old Intel Xeon chips and will also use less power.
