There were rumours earlier that the Microsoft Mp3 player would be named Argos, but gizmodo reports that actually the name of Microsoft's iPod killer will infact be 'Zune'.
They had earlier reported that there will be a Game option in the MS player, but that is now ruled out atleast for the first release according to the reports. So, i believe Zune should be out by the start of the Holiday season!
For those of you who haven't seen the video of what Microsoft would do with the product here it is..
More news on the iPod killer by Microsoft to come over the next few days and weeks. |

Microsoft is hell bent on gaining more share of the gaming maket from Sony and Nintendo. It is certainly not satisfied with the Xbox and the Xbox 360. They are moving ahead with their "Xbox live" idea and are even getting Nokia to agree with the concept. Nokia with their Symbian S60 could be a major asset in this effort.
Using Live Anywhere, you can obtain something called as a ‘GamerTag’ that stores who you are, and you can challenge your contacts in your choice of games, even when you're away from your Xbox 360. Of course, the games which you can play from the cell phone are not the high definition extreme games, but some basic games are available.
During gameplay, you can message friends and even do some video conferencing. Most of the games will come with free trials, but then you can either rent them or buy them altogether.
The games are not very expensive and you can buy them in the single figure range for each game.

MICROSOFT has come up with a Skype-like free internet voice service for cell phones that analysts believe could affect the porfits of huge companies like Vodafone, T-Comm, etc.
The service is included in a mobile version of Microsoft Office Communicator due to be released this year.
It will be similar to a voice-over internet protocol (VoIP) software which permits Office users to make free voice calls over Wireless-Fidelity enabled phones running Windows Mobile software. Microsoft chief, Steve Ballmer announced this news at the annual show in Barcelona held for mobile phone operators.
The difficult portion is to market these; since all mobile phones are sold through mobile telecommunication companies.
