The first iDEN cum CDMA mobile phone has got an all clear, the Motorola ic502. The Motorola dual mode phone has just received approval from FCC. The Motorola ic502 also known as the Moto RACER will be introduced having dual mode facility which means you can use it with your CDMA and iDEN networks. Although the iDEN network can only be used for outgoing calls which is obviously the downside.
The ic502 also has a walkie-talkie mode and some other features that aren't normal these days, but this is certainly not a fancy good looking phone. If you are looking for one of those this is certainly not what you should be looking at. On the otherhand there is not EVDO support and has a Speakerhpone option. Since the phone has just got it's approval from FCC, the date of the release and price is still not known. Price is rumoured to be around $250.
