The 42inch Plasma TV from LG has been one of the hottest picks of last year. The TV costs around $1600 (based on prices in the US). The LG 42PX3DCV comes with a 16:9 aspect ratio, with 10k:1 contrast. The plasma devliers 852 x 480p Resolution and capable of displaying upto 720p and 1080i TV scan lines. There is a HDMI interface too along with 2 composite i/ps, S-Video inputs, PC Audio in, and a RS232 serial interface. The TV has built-in speakers with 10W x 2 audio amplifier. The TV comes with a removable stand and a 2 year warranty to go along with. It weighs over 66 pounds and measures close to 47.5" x 25.3" x 3.78". Overall this is not too bad, but i'll still stick to the Panasonic displays. |

HP has come out with the 30 inch TFT screen this time following the 30 inch Dell 3007WFP. The HP LP3065 is a wide screen TFT with a 30 inch display area. The response rate of the monitor is 6ms and 12ms rise and fall. The display resolution of the screen is 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. The LP2065 comes with 3 dual link DVI inputs and 2 DVI inputs. The Monitor weighs close to 14 kilograms and measures close to 23.2 x 27.2 x 9.5 inches. The screen comes with a 3 year parts / labour warranty and free tech support. The HP LP3065 30-inch Desktop Monitor is pretty expensive at $1600 and i belive the Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP is much better and overall value for money. |

Lets have a look at one of the more popular Plasma Televisions out there. The guys from Pioneer have come out with the addition to their line up of PDP technology TVs in the form of the Pioneer PDP-5070HD. The Pioneer PDP-5070HD is a 50 inch TV and has a massive viewable area. This plasma tv is not capable of the heavily talked about 1080p resolution but will take complete advantage of the current 720p.
The Plasma tv is HDTV ready and you can plug in your Set top box or if you are getting your signal via Satellite. The TV has a 160 degree viewing angle and has a maximum resolution of 1365 x 768. It comes with 1 USB, 2 HDMI i/ps, 4 Composite video / audio ip, 2 S-Video input and a Subwoofer output.
Other features like PIP and Split Screen can be enjoyed on this TV. It can only receive NTSC reception, so at the moment, there is no support for PAL.
The Pioneer PDP-5070HD will leave you a nice hole in the pocket costing you close to $2600.

The Panasonic TH-42PX60U has become one of the most popular Plasma Tvs out there going by the selling figures and reports on the internet. It is a 42inch TV with a 16:9 aspect ratio. The TV weighs over 65 pounds and looks bigger than it actually is, which can be a good thing too :P.
The resolution of the Panasonic TH-42PX60U is 1024 x 768 and supports DTV resolutions of 720p and 1080i too. It comes with other television features like Zoom, Just, Convential 4:3, and Full. Supports various display menu languages and comes with video noise reduction technology. One of the striking features of this plasma is the memory card slot, for you to watch pictures or videos of your sunday picnic.
All in all lets now see the pros and cons of this beauty. It has very good video processing power and extremely accurate color representation. The two HDMI i/ps are always good instead of just one. The biggest drawback on this Plasma is no PIP, which can be really send some potential buyers away if they are used to this feature. Overall good to look at, not to expensive at all.. i wouldn't mind it but i'd go for a Sony if i had the moolah!
